This year's event has been changed dramatically from previous ones based on direct feedback and requests from people with ALS and supporters of our work to cure it. We will focus on what we have done over the last year and dive in deep on our two main focuses to end ALS: getting our most promising treatment for ALS, AT-1501, into the clinic and outcomes from the world's first Precision Medicine Program. Enrollment into that program will occur during the summit. In the afternoon we will have a frank conversation about the fundraising needed to advance these two programs and seek audience input to help shape our strategy to accomplish that urgent goal. As part of ALS Awareness Month, we want to talk about the unbelievable realities of this disease and how it makes those impacted feel. And "those impacted" can mean anyone and everyone. In May, we are sharing photos and videos on Facebook of people answering the question "How does ALS make you feel?" but using just three words. We want you involved. Share your own picture or video using the hashtags #inthreewords and #endALS and please get your own community involved too.
Let's spread the (three) word(s) about ALS and raise enough funds for a treatment, so that one day soon our friends, our neighbors, and our loved ones will be spared the horror that rips their lives apart.
